WED40 will corrode certain coating in the long run as it is too strong and destroy the coating

    thanks guys for quick replies.
wildstallion: how could i forget that. i was always thinking of those handyman, truevalue shops, ace hardware etc found in malls where i can find it in small hardware shops in the neighborhood.

evenstar, creaxion: is that so? then how come some gun/ pistol shops in manila endorses wd40? considering guns are precision tools. anyway will research on that.

ortega: singer oil. that will do. if i can only find one. i just need to lubricate my door hinge coz it sounds like haunted house every time i open it. no wonder wd 40 smells like kerosene.

Try something for the bicycle instead.

    www.finishlineusa.com

Or something (or anything) with PTFE or Teflon in it.

More than 15 yrs back in army, to help us in cleaning rifles and also from preventing instructors finding fault with our gun barrels, we use WD40 which is banned in SAF for cleaning rifles. It is cleaner but as what I say, it will corrode the metal coating and it will get rusty easily and it is proven by some of those who use the WD40 very consistently

Surprisingly, the US Army uses WD-40 to lubricate their weapons and equipment.
