hi jackie... so coincidental i am just doing a search on oc-1100 when i saw your newly-posted post....

was doing a shoot just now using the wireless flash off-shoe and got quite fed-up trying to get the flash to detect the camera's flash...

hmmz.. i few questions to ask u guys.....is oc-1100 enough to use the 5600 with my D5D offshoe? what is the os1100 used for? and.. is the sony's version Sony FA-CC1AM available already?

Sulhan.. will also deeply appreciate if you can locate the oc1100 and os1100( if needed to use the flash offshoe)...and help me buy them back if possible.. thanx a lot!

With a D5D, you will need the OS1100 hotshoe adapter as well as the OC1100 cable because, unlike the D7D, it does not have PC synch and has to connect via the hotshoe.
I have check about the Sony version and have been told it is not available yet.

oc-1100 is off-camera cable. you put one end on the hotshoe of your camera (including d5d) and attach the other end to your flash. the 5600 has a connector that you can connect the oc-1100 to directly, so no need the os-1100.

the os-1100 is an off-camera shoe. it's used with flash units like the sigma 500 and the 3600 that do not have a dedicated terminal to attach the cable to. so you connect the oc-1100 cable to the os-1100, then mount the flash on the os-1100.

i don't own a 5600 so i'm not absolutely sure about this, can check with zcf etc. i think the pc sync terminal on the 7d is for use with studio strobe, and is not used with the oc/os combo.

for 3600 u need OC & OS, cos OS for the base of the 3600 & then from camera connect to the OC to OS.

5600 have the round plug on the side already, so no need OS.

PC sync terminal is to use cord to trigger studio strobes, i forgot wats the other use, but confirm not for PC synchronisation of data...

damn sianz i bought a minolta wireless flash trigger, works on D7, but not on 7D, as if i use so often on film... y dun 7D incorporate the usage of this device...

Pai, DCA = Tks for pointing out my mistake. Anyway, I still need both items because one of my flashes is a 3600HS(D).
