Default Advise on lighting systems

Hi to all divers...

Wanna get some advises on U/W photography....

I have a retiring 350D.... thinking of bringing it u/w...
I managed to source a housing for it over the net....

What is a good config of lighting? and any other accessories I should get?
A general explanation will be good.... pure novice for u/w photography... sorry...

Thanks a lot...

No of strobes is one impt decision. 1 or 2. For optimal lighting, dual strobes are the way to go. But using two strobes can be very expensive and very cumbersome under water.

Manual or TTL is another impt decision.
A manual EV controller will help control the strobe strength in a convenient manner. This applies to manual strobe setting. Manual can be easier than you think.
TTL underwater is useful for macro shots, but wide angle you need to compensate it with maybe -1EV, and that only works under certain conditions. With digital you can keep trying thou.

After setup, using the strobes is another ball game. Positioning of strobes is tricky, as you want to only use the edge of the strobe beam to "brush" the target so as to reduce backscatter. This is much easier said than done. Need to practice. I confirm havent mastered this yet... too kan cheong underwater... (*cough*photoshopspothealingtool*cough*cough*)

Lots of guides out there, try googling up "strobe underwater" and visiting wetpixel.com forums.
