Buy/Sell is now split into three sections

After repeated requests from members, we have split the old Buy/Sell section into three main categories

- SLRs, DSLRs and Compacts
- Lenses and Flashes
- Tripods, Bags and Other Accessories

We hope that this split will make the Buy/Sell section a much easier section to navigate and thus, help you buy and/or sell your equipment more efficiently.

Well, that was one of the pitfalls of splitting.

I would recommend posting camera and lens kits or packages into the Cameras section as the camera is the higher priced item of the package (one would assume).

Actually, I was thinking a simpler split between Buy vs Sell might have been sufficient. Just my 2 cents.

i do not like the split, personally, just a split of buy and sell would surfice, now i need to look though 3 sections.

hi, thanks for trying to make the forum better. i'm quite surprised though - i always thought splitting the forum meant splitting into buy section and sell section. i'd welcome that. this 3-way split doesn't really work for me. just some feedback.

I think so too..split it into buy section and sell section would be a lot better. Imho..

I would prefer splitting into Buy section & Sell section.
Then the search function to filter to choose the different categories like lens, camera, etc

then its best of both worlds

ya, kinda agree about the splitting cause more problems in viewing. but its a good step.

Perhaps splitting by mount or brand would be better, since if its canon mount u won't go browse a nikon area, or vice versa. and u can list down accessories there as well.

just 2 cents.

Good effort for the admin! I'm pretty against the 3-way split too though. Is it possible to have it back like last time, but add in 2 filter options for users to choose instead? 1. Buy/Sell/All Filter and 2. Camera/Lens/Accessories/Others/All Filter?

initially i thought it was a great idea as you no longer have to hunt for the things you want in a crowded forum....but later i discovered it is actually very tedious to look at things in 3 different places.....

i would second the idea of having a separate buy and sell section instead

thanks for the effort...but I personally still prefer 1 forum for the B&S... no need to browse several different forum/subforum for the same purpose.
