My Metz 45 CL1 manual says rechargeables must never be used with the battery holder due to current differences and only alkalines is suitable.
Has anyone tried using NiMH with the battery holder...what will happen ? |

I was just wondering about that too.
Nimh batts seem to be lower voltage, so instead of 1.5v per batt x 6 = 9V, you may get only 1.2V per batt x 6 = 7.2V. May not charge the flash fully, or takes forever to charge? Can alsways try. I doubt if anything bad will happen to the flash as the total voltage of 6 Nimhs is below the required 9V, meaning, I doubt if you will fry your flash or anything but in case anything happens, don't hold me responsible ah! |

I have used 6 x Sanyo 2100 NiMH with the battery holder on my 45 CL-4. It works fine. Exposure also OK. Not sure about 45 CL-1 though.
My guess is it shouldn't be a problem. |
