Default IR with FinePix S6500fd

Tried out IR photography with my new FinePix S6500fd.
This camera does not like the R72 filter as it exhibits a slight but very visible hot-spot problem but surprisingly it did not have any problem with my X-NiteXDP filter which however produces a different kind of coloured IR images. All were shot handheld.

#1 St Andrew Cathedral

1/8s f/2.8 ISO 800

#2 Raffles City

1/25s f/2.8 ISO 1600

#3 Winsland House

1/20s f/3.4 ISO 1600

Some people collect film cameras, others collect rangefinders as a hobby. I have since accepted the fact that I like collecting digital cameras and have stop fighting the urge to buy if they are not too expensive.

Interesting effect.

The whites of the Cathedral is nice, have a porcelain look to me.

Thanks for sharing tomcat.

The DP1 you mean? Yes, very interested, especially since it is an APS foveon sensor. So far only Sony R1 uses an APS sensor in a non-DSLR digicam.

Also interested in collecting the Samsung NV 7 OPS because of its stunning design and features.

Thanks. I was quite surprised that the X-NiteXDP could be used on this camera. Usually this filter is very difficult to use as the Custom White Balance function of all the other cameras that I have tried it on could not cope with the strange colour cast it creates. The S6500fd is the first camera I come across that can actually set a CWB with this filter on.

I will try out the Cokin P007 and Ilford SFX filters later on to see how well they work on the S6500fd.
