Collecting images of Singapore for Singaporeana CD Screensaver project

Hi all,

We are helping out in collecting images of Singapore for a CD screensaver project and are now calling for members to submit their images for selection by the organising committee (external).

Please submit your images to the Gallery - http://gallery.clubsnap.com/showgallery.php/cat/595

Initial discussions with the organising committee is that photographers :
a) retain copyright of their images; and
b) be acknowledged as the copyright owners (names watermarked on image)

As this project is currently small-scale and expected to only cover costs of production/distribution during the sales process, the organising committee is unable to provide any form of payment to photographers who are selected for this project. However, it is anticipated that there will be additional development and that for future projects, photographers will be adequately compensated for the use of their images.

Having said that, if you are keen to contribute your image(s) and to have them displayed as a showcase of Singapore life, please submit your images to the Gallery. The submission can be lower-resolution for now, and more details will be given to members who have been selected.

The intent of this CD/Screensaver is to provide some reminder to tourists to Singapore and the whole idea of getting community involvement is to have the images as seen through the eyes of Singaporeans, depicting Singapore as a fun, quirky and fascinating place.

DarrenGood for the effort. A couple of quick questions - 1. you mentioned watermarks - how big ? you places them in ? where in the picture is it placed ? any email address shown ? - this is probably the key part that relatates to a returnes to contributor. If watermarks too small place bottom - easy to miss or clone off. No contact details - contributors at mercy of CD distributors to refer request from people interested in that picture or more pictures. 2. What size is the higher resolutution ? If it goodfor a high res screen saver ie 1200x 800 or 1800 x 1200 then it more than good enough for the images to be sold as web site stock images. 3. The usage and terms needs to be very clear - no offence if you are dealing with them you are probably honest about it - it is the party that intends to latter sell such a cd that I am worried about - when there is money on the table some people then to do strange things to make a buck or too off the other guy. Unless it is spelt out clear - there is a little too much that can go differently once the images are handed over. Grin imagine if these people contact the eye the city people - 4 years work of images from 2400 photogs...........
