Default Any owners of Sigma 17-70?

Hi, could any owners of the Sigma 17-70mm lens please give me some feedback and sample shots of the lens? I'm considering buying it and would love to hear from those who have used it. Many thanks!

For sigma lenses, better to purchase EX version http://www.sigma-photo.com/lenses/lenses_all.asp for better quality, moreover, can be used on Full Frame Camera should you use a Canon 5D or Film, 17-70mm this model is a competition against kit lenses... I have friends using this, he commented "decent", sold it after a week of using.

i don't think it's fair to say "its a comparison against kit lenses." the real competition to the kit lenses are the 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6, 55-200mm f/4-5.6. the 17-70 clearly is a cut above that with its f/2.8 max aperture. plus it uses sld glass which is not found in any kit lens

i used the 17-70 for half year still love it, no intention to upgrade.
I love the range and the apeture is enuf for me. I also like the macro mode (can focus 3cm away from the lens).

do a search in this forum, there are quite a lot of discussion abt this lens.
