You might want to include a ballhead and a big enough tripod with the rental.

BEFORE you buy your lens: think about this.
600mm is a LONG focal length. That means you might have to be at the fountain to use it proper. Aperture I believe is the max at most at f4 - THAT almost won't allow you to use higher shutter speeds to prevent motion blur, even if iso is pushed to 1600. The only way in order to use higher shutter speeds would have to be use direct flash. However, knowing ngee ann city and your focal length, I doubt your flash would be even be able to reach your subject. |

If you can rent a $100,000 car, I don't see why you can't rent a high end lens... everything has a price.

600mm at indoors event...
Dun think there is any long lens rental services in Sg. Few own this kinda huge lens, the one I know are mostly bird shooters. Unless you can beg, borrow or steal from Nikon SG.
In addition you need a really big ass tripod, good long lens technique to prevent blur at that kind of focal length, a ladder, a flash extender to extend the reach of your flash. In any case I think due to the long distance flash is next to useless, and to rely on ambient light means u have to push up your ISO (i.e more noise) as f4 is really not cutting it for indoors lighting. In short, bro, I think just forget it....try and get a ticket for a seat inside is still the better option. |

i do not know what is your purpose of renting a 600mm for a non paid shoot thou...
and i feel that its a total waste of good hard earned money for such a good lens and for such a worthless event.... i will even think thrice about bring a 300 f/2.8 there let alone a 600mm... Newface event is also not very the high profile event thou.. even with its advertisings on Newpaper and etc... why not go there early. bring along a 70-200 VR. and you are good to go.. IMHO. 600mm there.... and if was one of the bystanders... i will find that u are a complete show off.... ![]()
