Hi,
May I know what setting do you use for the Table Shot at the dinner? Thank you |

I actually pointed the SB800 directly at the subjects (no bounce flash), set white balance to flash mode, and set ISO to 200. Somehow I wasnt sure how to switch to higher F numbers because the camera seemed fixed at 1/60 s shutter speed.
The SB800 shows range, so I tried to stay 10m away from my subjects. The good news is that the flash is so good that the colour of the attendees clothing came out ok - which was my priority. The lighting inside the room was too warm and I got dim, dull results with bounced flash. |

your group shots too much head room (too much unwanted space). you lost the ambient that ritz carlton grand ballroom has for most of the table shots. direct flash with iso200...definately a no no setting for me for ballroom lighting.
i realised most of your shots...think you using centre focal pt. right? you never reframe the pic after focus lock is on. too much head room...and end up chopping pple into half. and i do believe some of the shots will be better framed if you shoot in portrait mode. eg marching in and stuff...i cant see the legs...how i know the couple is walking or standing there? keep shooting...if you find my reply too blunt...you can ignore wat i typed above. |
