F30- zoom error. anyone had this before

today turn off my F30. then when i wanted to on again it says zoom error. can see a bit of light from the LCD but the lens didnt zoom out to shooting position. after on and off then ok.

then realise something wierd. though set in e center focus mode, the camera engage into e continous mode, not full continous though, only can hear a bit of focusing sound when cam switch between infinity and close range.(focus at infinity then put hand infront to smulate close range)

anyone ever expereince such things? note: the camera is working perfectly now. have since taken more than 50 photos after the incident and the photos turn out all sharp, no AF problem, both marco and far.

shot around 900+ photos.... no such problem...hopefully never will...

i have had it for 2 days ans shot about 300+ photos already. this camera is addictive. easy to bring out and easy to take good pictures w it. photos are sharp and colours are great.i bring it out everyday!

i quite suspect i accidently press e 'on' button when the cam is in the soft pouch and lens cant zoom out.

all said, important thing is now camera working perfectly.

This happened to me before but not F30.
Another P&S I own before due to above reason..

Did a off-on, and normal liao..

Amen to that. I never used a belt pouch for my cell phone (I feel these are only for old folks

) but I did it when I got the F30. I won't tuck my shirt in, though! lol!

just an update....

i realised the sound from the camera is due to light condition and not focusing: when you switch from extreme bright to dark or the other way round, the aperture changes to get correct brightness on e LCD. so cam is normal.

there is another ocassion though i was taking indoor pics of my collaegue the WB just didnt work. always give me yellow pics. even custtom setting didnt help. of cos, again, now it is working perfectly fine under the same lighting condition.

not to say that this cam is no good, just reporting abnormalities that i face. still love the camera. have taken more photos w it than just these 3 days than the D200 in hte whole month. even when i go cycling also bring in my waterpack ( hope the water won leak though

)
