Default Tokina 28-80 or 28-70?

Hi guys, anyone have personal views on how these two f2.8 lens fare? thinking of getting one. but not sure which.

U're not considering Tamron? The Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 is I can let u play with it during the coming kopi session

BTW, what happened to your sigma lens?

lol sold it already, selling my kit lens too. looking to get a mid range to try some events and weddings.

What abt the sigma 28-70 f2.8 EX aspherical? think its the non DG one. any good? got a offer for a brand new piece for abt 400

IIRC, that lens is notorious for its yellow colour cast. it is also soft at the corners. nowhere near the tamron 28-75 in comparison

gd price for a new piece... for the yellow cast, it is actually on all sigma lens due to their special yellow coating

That is strange. Sigma is blue coating not yellow. I tot Tokina is yellow. I override my D70s brown cast with Sigma's blue. If u look at the lens, u will notice the bluish tinge.

hmmmm ok. its actually the ex df version. i vaguely remember when i tested it. The focus ring turns during af? any idea?

haha i , but sigma have been known to give a warmer feel to the pic... i felt so with my 70-300 as well. or maybe its the glass itselve is yellowish not the coating hehehe

just checked my 70-300.. the coating is browish/reddish color.

Well I am using the 18 - 50 and the 70 - 200. F2.8 EX DC type.
