Hi,
I was wondering if anybody on CS had any idea where I can obtain a thermometer? I broke my current one and I need a replacement. Ruby sells some, but I don't think they are the cheapest, are they? |

You can buy a decent digital thermometer for less than $10 at the basement level of Sim Lim Tower. Accuracy is +/- 1 degree.

Try Cathay or Ruby. Best to get the metal dial type, then you won't break it anymore. It's easier to read also... and you don't need batteries.

I'd got a mercury type thermal meter at NTUC FairPrice, Bishan. i.e. S$2. But, the scale about 2 degrees out. anway, S$2 stuff, dun expect much from it.
just use it as guide is sufficient. |

From my experience, all thermometers do not show the same temperatures! Just go and check a batch of thermometers - they range from negligible to 2 degrees off from what I've seen. I just picked a lucky one that wasn't too "off" from the rest.
Just use those toys as a guide - the same way you'd use the numbers off digitaltruth.com as a guide. |

On temp, anyway, once you pour the water into the container and shake it around, I'm sure the temp is going to move a little anyway. So +- 1 or 2C is probably normal. |
