I've recvd PM request for rental of my underwater casing before

- 'I will like to ask if it is possible to rent/borrow your A80 with underwatercasing from 5th sept to 9th sept for my school trip please.'

but I'm glad the borrower understand my point of view

- 'I dunno how to charge ya for the loan.
As the casing is polycarbonate so can be scratched quite easily when ya down there.
How do ya wan me to charge ya on the wear and tear or scratch and crack?'

As ya plan to use it for ya compact digicam, its better to get ya personal casing.
It's not as costly as a DSLR casing.
Those DSLR casing r really a bit over da top.

It's a real Bo pian cost ya noe.

what casing are you looking for?

i think its easier to rent the camera together with the housing..

i don't mind renting mine out, and i have a few friends who are willing to do that too.

we're using Canon A85/95/A620...

ok..here the situation..

I am going diving in Bali in a couple of weeks time.

i do own a DSLR..which i am absolutely not willing to take it into the water..too risky...

However, i am willing to buy a compact digi cam and bring it down and use it as a spare camera as well. But i find that it's rather dumb for me to buy the underwater casing if I am about to use it ...hum maybe 2 times a year....

So i ended up asking u folks if there is something out there that I can use....i have not bought the campact camera yet...

Morphis:
You are right...these stuff get scratches quite easily....dont look sensible to pay off $1/- for every 1cm of 1mm deep scratch after all...

perhaps i should go swimming more often, then i can justify buying the u/w casing after all...

There seems to be quite bit of compact and casing up for sale in B&S here, FiNS classified, Yahoo auction etc... Really tempting

I went to Bali with my DSLR and housing (and two YS 120 strobes) ... if you have a DSLR and housing (or any equipment for that matter) and are not willing to "risk it", then why did you buy it? The only thing you should not risk is your life (well, most of the time).

Cheers, Jeff
