Default Camera Bracket for Metz Flashlight

Hi,

I am using Metz MZ54-4i with SCA3602-M4 adapter for my Sony F828. So far I just put the flash+adapter on the hotshoe and plug the cable (from adapter) to the ACC jack. It works well.

I am now thinking to buy a bracket 40-36 so that I can hold my flash BESIDE the camera, not on top of it (on the normal hotshoe).

I need your advise, do I need any other additional cable ? If I only use the usual cable from the adapter to the ACC jack while the camera is on the bracket, will I lost any capability of the flash (TTL, Hotshoe), etc. ? Or will it just function the same way as if we put the flash on the camera ?

Thanks in advance for your advise.
Steven
