I've been using those mountain climbers rope to tie a tripod to my waist (from adventure21) but i need to get some small diameter lines to tie my DSLR to my optech chest harness. i find the existing optech strap too short and also too wide and cumblesome when i do vertical shots, so would like to DIY.
i did know of those artshops selling those lines (1-3mm would be acceptable) but i have no idea if they are strong enough to hold weight for prolonged period and if they will give way at times. does anyone have any suggestions? |

You can try using those small diameter braided lines used in sailing. Not to sure where you can buy it now but I think National Sailing Centre and PA Sailing Centre in East Coast may have it. They sell it by the meters and if it can be used in sailing, it should have no problems holding on to the lens etc. The weak point is your knots.
