Default Stingless Jellyfish Tioman

I jumped into the water, Look down and immediately wanted to climb out of the water.. but when i accidentaly brushed against one.. it didn't sting!!

the sea at tioman was infested with these jelly fish, exactly like the stingless jelly fish lake.. but with additional fishes hehe

Sure....

Jellyfish is not 100% covered with Stinging Cyst....
The stings are in the tentacles. If you touch the top of the jellyfish, they do not sting.

I think these are the smaller ones not fully grown with the sting maybe. Just be extra careful around these sea creatures.

Piggy was right about the non-stinging part of the bell but lovells19 encounter must have been with the Cassiopeia jellyfish that does not sting. The upside-down jellyfish is one exception to how most jellyfish actually feed. Believe it or not but the upside-down jellyfish (Cassiopeia) is actually more like a like a plant. In the tentacle region right before you get to the mouth there is a big bush located well in those layers of skin, containing zooxanthellae, which photosynthesises to make their own food from sunlight. I've handled the entire jellyfish before when I had to collect them to feed the baby turtles before release. Here's a picture of one I took in Tenggol's waters.

The sudden onset of jellyfish is one of God's amazing creation to coincide with the hatching of baby turtles that bound for sea. The egg laying season begins in May to September with the most hatching in June - August. Eggs take about 60 - 65 days (incubation period) before the turtles head for the ocean. Once seaward bound, they would feed on anything they find (sadly, even oil spill blobs....) and with the abundance of jellyfish in the area, the chances of survival increases. God is amazing, isn't He?

God sure is amazingly fair.
These hatchlings have to do the Survivor beach crossing to face the cute crabbies, birds, doggies etc before their first meal and tats not mentioning the hungry creatures in their seaward swim.
Perfect coordination.
