In my amateurish opinion, I think your series of photos here is probably the best I’ve seen here for Swarovski Poetic Night Collection shown in this forum. My reasons are :

1)In the clothings worn by the models, I see a lot more details in your pictures than those by others here.

2)Even when the background is dark/black, the dark dresses still stand out from the background as there is enough colour/contrast differences between the dresses and background (otherwise, the dresses would blend too much with the background).

3)Even when the background is bright/white (as in some pictures), it doesn’t cause viewers too much distraction from the models and jewelry because the backgrounds are not overwhelmingly bright/white.

4)The head room is just about right; not too high that the models are heading the top of the frame like heading a football nor too low that their heads are too near to the centre of the frame or too much negative/dead space above their heads.

5)You filled most of the frame with subjects (model, jewelry and decorations), not having too much unnecessary negative space.

6)For those half-body shots, the jewelry are eye-catching (due to their appropriate shines, brightness, colours and size as well as the angle they were shot from) and thus catches the attention of viewers, serving the purpose of those shots.

7)Most of the shots are framed quite nicely so that the jewelry (which should be the main subjects) falls in the appropriate place (about 1/3 away from a side of the frame) instead of dead in the centre, thus causing the viewer to take time to explore around the picture instead of just taking a 1-second glance (since there are usually a few pieces of jewelry worn each time at different parts of the model’s body).

8)There are no unnecessary chopped limbs or bodies (Just like drawing a painting where you won’t want to draw a body or limb which is not part of what you want to show and get chopped off half way at the edge of the frame).


In summary, this series serves its purpose of showcasing the jewelry and the event quite well.
