    Default Chocolat n spice muffins

Juz would like you guys to comment which shot is better for presentation.

Simply love these muffins in Shunfu. Long queue everyday. At least wait for 30 mins but well worth it. Not advertising for them but anyone who love muffins should try.

#1 higher angle with main light on right.

#2 lower angle with main light on right

#3 lower angle with main light on left

    Thanks for all your comments.

I like all of the 'poses' but I really dont like the leftwards tilt that is present in all 3. Also, I think it would look better if you exposed the fork so we could see most of it, especially the 'sticky' 'staby' end (forgot the technical name for it!)

I like the exposure and the shadows on the muffin though, makes it look yummy!

    Hi Elliot,

Thanks. yup, agreed - the tilt. Actually noticed it after I posted. Managed to PS the tilt away after that. Er, the fork, tried to get better DOF by shooting at f8 but still not good enough. Any suggestions?

Maybe get a bright tourch and cover it with you hand, make a small slit inbetween your fingers and let some light fall onto the end of the fork?

And keep the same settings for everything else.

u might consider adding a little light from the back to further define the shape of the muffine and shoot from a slightly lower angle and tighter crop.

    looks like mary's muffins....

OH, ok, see what u mean. Will try that sometime. Looks like may need some trial n error to get it right. Otherwise over exposiing the sharp end of the fork may make the pic quite odd or worse distract the viewer to the main subject.

Anyway, thanks for all your comments. Appreciate it.

Yeah, it will be a long process unless you get lucky first time, trial and error at its best! Good Luck!
