Default F30 or xD card or card reader faulty?

hi guys, need some help here.... i've have been shooting these 2 days since i got the f30... very happy with it till i see this everytime i transfer the files via a card reader.... a few of the files will be corrupted like these....some slightly and some as bad as these...

b4 i took out the xD card, the shots were perfectly alright on the cam's lcd.... sometimes my mac will prompt me error on the corrupted files while transferring half way... and when i quit and slot the card back into the cam, it says "card not initialized"... then i have to re-format it to use again....

is this a filmware, xD card or some kind of unknown issue?

thx...

Happened to me a couple of times when I tried using a multi card reader to transfer pictures from my xD card. I'm using a oly camera and card. Nowadays I transfer directly from the camera, so far no problem.

thx for sharing mate... i suspected the card reader too but i can't transfer directly coz when i plugged the usb cable to my mac from the cam, the cam's lcd just showed me a white lcd screen with the usb icon and nothing happens thereafter... i think the cam can't talk to mac osx tiger.... i guess i might have to resurrect my windows pc...

It's the mac.
I had this problem many times on different macs also.

My suggestion is don't use mac to download, plug into a windows PC straight away. The Macs somehow corrupts the data.

Same problem over here, my multi card reader seems to have some problem reading the XD card, 1 or 2 pics will turn out showing only 1/2 and then when I insert back to my F30, the
pic will shown error reading.Hmm....

hi all, found out in the end it's the card reader that's giving corrupted jpeg files while transfering...

Just bought a olympus xD card reader from a fellow cser and no such problem at all! my 1 st xD card reader (red color can't rem which brand) is the problem and unfortunately the shop where i bought it dun allow to exchange.... they say sometimes it's 'normal' to have some files corrupted! my a%#!!

Facing same problem with you , SD card still can read, but come to XD, some of the files will be corrupted or error.. Btw, how much you get for the XD card reader? Guess I got to get one to avoid the problem.

You haven't tried directly connecting the F30 to your mac? It will not launch iphoto automatically but if you do so manually, you'll find iPhoto ready to import files from your F30.

nope....but thanks for the headsup....
i prefer to use card reader as connecting the cam to my mac may cause 'tripping' of cable..
