Just in, FZ50 review by Simon of DPReview.
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0609/06...fz50review.asp It manages to get a Highly Recommended (although barely). Nothing groundbreaking compared to the FZ30, except a custom button and a screen that swivels 180 degrees. (The Venus Engine III seems to be a step back, though.) |

wow, the noise ain't as bad as i think after i saw some of the sample shot on other website (@ ISO400) but i still which it was 6-8MP... afterall the 10MP doesn't help anything except that it is 2digits instead of 1.
anyway which they include the review of ISO800 (if there is any), personally i think ISO1600 is still quite un-usable, unless going not going to look at it from big screen or big print. |

Now torn between Budget DSLR Nikon D50, Pentax K100D & FZ50.
Of course the FZ50 has great features like 12x zoom, image stabilizer... but the image tends to be soft & noiser... DSLR produces nice images but need investment in asscesories....... |

you're in for a surprise when you get your dSLR.. Unless you plan to spend another $1k on the lens of course... the kit lens is really "amazing"XD |

Well, my intention for the camera is for leisure photo taking.
Maybe another option is the Fuji S9600 which is coming out soon.... It is a proconsumer camera with 10.7x zoom, 28mm wide angle, no image stabilizer but the noise level is lower than the Fz50 |

i assume it is using the same sensor as the S9500.
But will wait for the review to make a final conclusion. |
