I just received news that the IMF-World Bank Meeting (Singapore 2006) Fireworks Grand Finale show will be 10 minutes long.

It will be lit up at the Marina Bay Sands (Casino) site, opposite of Esplanade Bay.

Date and time is 19 Sep 2006, Tuesday at 9:50pm. Last for 10 minutes.

The whole Esplanade Bay is closed to the public during the whole day of 19 Sep.

Suntec City is also closed.

i think marina east should still be accessible right? but i wonder whether the fireworks will be high-level ones and will they be comparable to the SFF?

i would say Tg Rhu would be a good bet... only if high level ones...

Hmmm... Where did u get the info from? I went to the S2006 web site and it did not state the fireworks... Can we get a confirm info on it? This is to prevent us from waiting the whole night and no fireworks in the end... Hope u understand...

i know its comfirm.. i got a friend's friend who work in IMF told me that it is comfirm on 19th

It same to this year 2006 june , when i was at shanghai attend exhibition.
The G6 meeting at shanghai, the bund areas are close and the firework display at CBD of shanghai.
It last 10-15 min. i can't get close of it , due to road blockage.
It was disappointed me and the visitor on that day.

Can someone further firm up the date and time of the IMF fireworks.

Yes it is confirmed that it will be 19th Sept. Exact timing of the fireworks show wasn't revelaed but the entire reception event will last from 6pm to 10pm.

Can anyone double comfirm? We can meet up and head to marina east after work or something. Don't wanna 1 person go there.. i scared. ha ha ha..

i think somehwere near tanjong rhu where u can have e full view of the city scapes r not closed may be can shoot there?

read somewhere that the Pyro/lighting show will be based around the merlion. If it's just low level fireworks (since it's just for delegates) then shooting from Tg Rhu will be a disaster as the distnace is just TOO far and the Bridge will probably block off most of the low level fireworks.

Basically Tg Rhu will be good for high-level fireworks and Bridge will be better for low level fireworks... just my 2cents worth...
