Singapore vs China photos - Newbie needs feedback

hi everyone,

i recently just inherited a Nikon F80 35mm SLR from my dad, and i'm a totally newbie to SLR and photography.

Was at the recent Singapore vs China Asian Cup 2007 Qualifier match at the national stadium. would appreciate some feedback, i know i totally suck, cause many of the shots were over-exposed and i think the sb-28 was too strong and direct. perhaps its just me not knowing how to use the equipment.

these were shot with Kodak 400 and scanned using a consumer Epson flatbed scanner

Prematch madness, typical Singapore style.
Match starts at 7:30pm, but 10-15mins into the match, still large packs of people queuing to
'all last minute' buy tickets...

Its so nice to see the Singaporean supporters out in full force cheering on their home team...and not critisising them instead...

is it in photo form and u scan it it, look like matted

How big was the crowds? Anyway the photos look like its from the 1970s, and the stadium fits that look. I suppose all the more its time for it to be rebuilt.
