A simple comparison to show the wide angle coverage of KM 18-70, KM 17-35 and Tamron 11-18. Pardon the uninteresting scene.

Interesting.
But on screen how come only can see difference mainly on left side? Was the camera mounted on tripod and change lens only?

Picture taken on tripod from same position. Did rotate camera on tripod to right align the edges. This is done to show the differences clearly on left.

Let me just confirm your misery... hahahaa...
I love the 11-18... very sharp and absolutely spot on interms of distortion even you stand very close to the straight line indoor. Nikon 12-24 bow like fisheye, similar to Sigma 10-20... Exterior is great, but interior, these lenses are really like fisheye. Hart |

thankfully i don't shoot very much landscape/ cityscape and dislike group shots so *phew*... bought the 7d set from caussway yesterday, the 17-35 is a VERY nice lens! its killed my craving for an 11-18. for a while anyway..... haha...

11-18 totally different beast all together. Not easy to use as it cover alot more where in photography simplicity is best. Still learning.

From the Tamron 11-18 @ 11mm photo it can be clearly seen that straight line are straight even at the edge, please see the electrical pole on right.
As for Tamron 11-18 image sharpness, which can't be seen from the photo, the side is softer and slight CA compare to center.
