SONY A-100 Body Only Price in Malaysia

For those interested in the SONY A-100 body only, you can get it at MY$2660 in KL. This is around SG$1210 (using 2.2 exchange rate), compare to Singapore price of SG$1449. Camera in Malaysia is duty free, hence no tax/gst at all.

No memory card bundled in. The warranty is "Tourist Warranty", applicable for Singapore as well and covers 18months. The additional 6 months come from filling up an additional form to join MY SONY website.

This shop is a well known shop in KL and they are willing to bargain. Went to another shop and their quoted price is MY$2999 for the same deal. There seems to be limited stock on the A-100 Body only and plenty of A-100 with kit lens.

Any idea what is included in the Malaysia bundles? Cos I heard in Singapore they are bundling with GPS & 1GB Memory Stick...GPS sounds interesting!

Yes, GPS is bundled with the body in Singapore. Seems like a good deal..What do u think?

Please beware that the warranty is only 18 months even you register online since Alpha 100 is on promotion. (only selected product get extra 3 months when you register online). The main reason Singapore Sony bundling with GPS & 1GB Memory Stick is they want to push the sale to avoid poeple traveling down to Malaysia for a better bargain.

My guess is if you want the GPS and 1GB than the final price will not differ much from the KL price. However if you only want the body only and nothing else, then the KL price is a good buy.

Not sure how much is the GPS thingy selling alone ? Anyone ?

I know normal gps receiver is about 100-200 only... for a gps with more functions, 200+++ if i am not wrong... a100 got gps capability ma?

Yes, I heard the GPS works well with A100...If price is within 100-200++ & they bundle with 1GB Mem Stick, I think it is probably worth getting it in Singapore lah...Save the trouble of travelling across the causeway to save couple bucks..Furthermore at least any servicing in future can be done here easily...
