Disappointed
Looking at the full size sample pic on dpreview, u can see all the noise even on bright daylight. From the trend, FZ-10 and FZ-20 are similar, FZ-30 and FZ-50 are similar, FZ-60 should be a break through. Hope they put in a better sensor then. |

there is a big " fight " over at dpreview forum with regards to whether FZ50 is better than FZ30 or even FZ20, are yr comments based on actual ownership or from the pics on dpreview? incidentally, there is also another big fight over the canon forum on whether the new EOS is better than the rebel . |

Personally it doesnt matter to me. I've seen fantastic works with the older Fz20 and the Fz5...even film, in the right hands work wonders... |

. If u 1, u may see some images that I've just learn how to upload them yesterday. But take note that some are from (my previous cos sold)Nikon Coolpix5000 & Canon S2-IS & also my current FZ50. Btw my hardly used 20D if really crop also c some noise(I believe thats digital cams & films do hv some grains too right depends on what size u often do) but usually if I print photos will be 4R(majority) & 5R (at times) & 8R(so far 3-4 only in terms of years ).![]() |

You don't have to keep the 10mp resolution. Thru the function button, you can choose 3mp or 5mp, as well as several others. Main advantage: the system hones in on the central area, cropping out the excess sides, and simultaneously bounces you up to a 17x (5mp) or 21.4x (3mp) **OPTICAL** zoom. As for noise, it's pretty much a nonissue is you print standard size prints (i.e., 4x6). In any event, I found 200 and above virtually unusable on the FZ7. Now with the FZ50, I no longer hesitate to use 200, 400 or 800. I don't rush to use 1600, but neither do I "avoid it at all costs", as was the case with the FZ7.
Note: this extended optical zoom (EZ) is NOT to be confused with mere digital. Hence, no image deterioration. Last edited by FZ50Kool; 27th September 2006 at 04:01 AM. Reason: spelling |
