Extended warranty for Canon S3 worth it?

Hi folks, just got a Canon S3.. an upgrade from the A95.

I was told I can extended my warranty for 2 additional years for $70.

Anyone thinks it's worth it? Well, I will most likely be taking up the offer.

Go ahead and extend it cause you'll never know when a digital device can fail, especially so when its so easy to literally knock the life out of a digital camera accidentally. Moreover product lifespan for these stuff are getting shorter these days.

I recently bought a new Canon PIXMA iP4200 and extended the warranty by another 2 years with Harvey Norman as I reckon I will still be using it for at least 3 yrs.

Why not? Just $35 a year and so less than 10 cents a day....unless you 1 2 sell it away before the 1st year warranty expired.

my s2's zoom went crazy exactly 7 days before the warranty ends
i got my sister to send it to canon for me n extend the warranty
close shave

i having my bmt ma, then my sis sent it in on tuesday, my pop was the following wednesday
i called canon n requested for them to service it by friday so i can use it by that friday
credit to them, they probably rushed my repairs, cos i requested for a full function check as well.

this is really a close shave. just a few months nv use it also can spoil
