Default Should I get dual lens kit?

Is it worth it to get the dual lens kit for the Alpha? Is the 70-300mm lens any good, and can I get it much cheaper 2nd hand? Or do you guys have any other recommendations for a telephoto zoom?

The Kit lens and the 75-300mm should cover most of your basic needs. If you get a second hand 75-300mm it would be much cheaper but you need to know how to check the lens for defects.

Actually you can get both kits (KM one) cheaper at B&S forum.

from some feedback, 75-300mm is good from 75-200mm, 200-300mm seem not too sharp though.

Other good tele lens are (in sequence of less ex to more ex):
70-210mm f/4 (so call beer can)
100-300mm APO f/4.5-5.6
500mm f/8 mirror lens
100-400mm APO f/4.5-6.7
80-200mm f/2.8 APO
70-200mm f/2.8 APO SSM
You can check these website for more lens information

What is the price of a Alpha kit (cash) at shops like Alan Photo or Mscolor? It should be cheaper than Comex ($1799) right?

Not sure, have to wait for others reply, heard it's slightly cheaper at MS Colour, not available at AP yet.
But not sure they come with the GPS thing in Comex or not.

Ok, I called up MS to ask. Body only is selling for $1450, free GPS and 1GB card. Kit is $1750, free bag+GPS+1GB card. No difference in price whether paying cash or credit. Looks like the price is not much different from the RRP by Sony. Wonder if other places can give better price without the freebies.
