Hi guys
I m a newbie n just got into this very addictive hobby . Went to Comex with the intention of getting the D70s but after lookin the 400D my mind n wallet was swayed(currently a Nikon 5700 user) Will be gettin my hands on the 400D once its out but the 1 thing that worries me is the large LCD ... just wandering if it has some sort of protective cover like the D70s ? If not , do they sell those LCD screen protection sticker like those found on our HPs ? |

Just to ask if it is really important to get a protector?
All i know is there is already a plastic sheet or something to protect the Canon dSLR. Unlike those compact camera where the LCD is "exposed"... |

What is a camera for? Why do we buy cameras? Take photograph. Granted, we much protect our equipment to assure that they are and will be in good working order. But to be obssessed with protecting this gaffering that, I don't see the fuss in taking better pictures. |

I find it funny when I cant find the word Canon on its pop-up flash when i got my used EOS 5 years back. Then I realise it was gaffered. Ha
I peeled it off immediately as I like the word and the font of the word Canon. That's one of the reasons I am with Canon too. And yes, no gaffer on my 1D2 as well... Feel kind of spoil the nice design of the body but the gaffer at the base is great I must say to give a better grip as mentioned by DP. ![]() |

I heard that the plastic over the LCD can be replaced by Canon sg for something like $20 if you so choose. Haven't done anything to protect mine. Been wiping it with everything from fingers to tissue paper and t-shirts. Still looks fine.

there is no need to get a LCD protector as the LCD screen is rather scratch resistant.
i have a 300D and a 1D II, and both have not been protected with protectors. i'm a rather rough user and till date none of my LCD screens are scratched.
