Default FM 10 and manual lenses

Dear Nikonians,

Just like to know if FM 10 is still available? I read F 6 and FM 10 is still in production only....

Also, are the manual lenses will available brand new???

Thank you.

FM10 should still be available. You can use non-DX, non-G AF lenses and treat them as manual lenses. I think thebrand new manual lenses would mostly be old stock. I'm not sure if Nikon still produces them. Otherwise, Carl Zeiss ZF lenses are alternatives.

Yes, along with still producing the F6 and FM10, Nikon said in it's statement that it will still produce the following manual focus lenses

Nikkor 20mm f/2.8
Nikkor 24mm f/2.8
Nikkor 28mm f/2.8
Nikkor 35mm f/1.4
Nikkor 50mm f/1.2
Nikkor 50mm f/1.4
Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8
Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8
PC Micro-Nikkor 85mm f/2.8D

Although, I think they are being produced in quite small numbers, so you may have to do an indent order for brand new manual lenses.

The PC-Micro 85mm/2.8 is actually quite a new lens and has CPU inside, so it will not obsolete that fast.

I think that's what gooseberry is saying, Nikon will still continue producing the PC-Micro 85mm/2.8 too, along with the other MF Nikkors that he mentioned.

Yah.. because I saw an article concerning Nikon lenses in Canada, they're stopping the import of all the MFs still under production except for this PC lens.

I still see a constant flow of MF lenses here in S'pore. Maybe it's affecting Canada only?

Maybe demand there doesn't make it economical viable to bring in?

Cool Re: FM 10 and manual lenses

Hmmm.... If you are into film photography, instead of getting FM10, why not get a second hand FM2. There are the old workhorse of the MF Nikon family and is super lasting. It will most likely cost about $400/- or cheaper now.

I have a FM2 but it is not for sale, keeping it for memory. My first SLR...

Why not go for 2nd-hand FM2/FE2/FA/etc.. They are better in build and functionality.
The same amount of money for a new FM10 can buy any of the advanced models above.

Dear Nikonians,

Thank you all for your reply.... I am thinking of gettinga FM 10, a full manual for the fun of it, and use it with a standard lens ONLY.... 50mm.... still thinking about this..... that is why I checked if there is MF still available....

I will look into other FM series too and then decide.....
