ive had the chance to use the F11 quite a bit over the past few days. i notice a strong tendency to blow highlights at EV +/- 0.
is this a norm with the F11/F30? from what i have read in dpreview forums, this is qutie a big problem for the F series partly due to a not so good lightmeter. is there a good way to over come it? let me just refer you to the DPreview thread at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=19595205 also..one example of blown highlights with f11 http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne...57594171912393 Last edited by Isaiahfortythirtyone; 3rd September 2006 at 05:02 PM. |

it is the norm for F10, F11 and F30 to get a bit overexposed when you are taking pictures outdoors. that is what the exposure compensation is for. you can say that its metering outdoors is not that good but if you compensate correctly, the results are great.
i do suspect that its metering is more tuned to indoor lowlight shooting, in which overexposing slightly means lower noise levels and more pleasing image in low light situation. |
