Flash is a little harsh, which bleached the already pale colours of the butterfly. Not up to the standard of your usual shots.

Actually this one is neither Cycad Blue, Pygmy Blue nor Lesser Grass Blue ! You will not find the ID or photo in any of the Malaysia or Singapore butterfly books. It is a new speices the butterfly group discovered in Nov 2001 and has been ID by the expert as Zizeeria maha serica.

It has similar pattern as Pygmy Blue but with bigger and darker spots along the edge of the wings.

It is believed to have come from Hong Kong !

BTW, where did you photograph this butterfly ? So far this butterfly has only been recorded in the Eastern side of Singapore.

Thanks for the info. We are tracking its migration in Singapore. Waiting to see how long it will take to reach the western & southern side of Singapore.
