Hi All,
My list of Purchase was One D70s kit and 1 SB800 flash(for my friend in India) and being a D70s user, another SB800 for me!! I got a good deal on D70s at Nikon(CP)-COMEX - for 1788$ (D70s,2GBCF,additional Battery,Manfrotto 190PRO with 486RC2 ballhead, card reader, bag, dry box, lens clean pen, tokino filter !! I was plannin to buy a tripod for around 300$ - I'm gonna keep the tripod and sell the REST to my friend for 1620$(mkt price outside)!! I win, He wins toooo!! so win-win lah! On SB800 x 2 pieces - The COMEX show price is $638.. I pity the sales guy who cdn't convince his manager for 630$ as I wanna buy 2 units.. I thought of having a word with manager... HE SAID 'CANNOT'!! I immediately said 'Ok..I donn wann'! why to argue with a BUSY person! ![]() And Fortunately I found the list of reliable Shops in CLUBSNAP here today morning..! and called the shop present inside Peninsula Hotel!! for my surprise they quoted a price of 580$ cash price for SB 800! I bumped in immediately during my lunch hour! cdn't find the shop..called them..the lady was so polite to direct me and she was at the door to welcome me!! I could see many customers getting a SMILEY service, and I was served with same level of customer service- they opened up the SB800 box, showed me the flash, manual explaining to me about it...which was totally unexpected by me...and since I paid by CC, they added 3% to the price(obviously)..which came around 597.40 x 2. I bought a flash diffuser - which was quoted 30$ when I enquired and billed at 25$: with my request ! since I bought 2 flashes I ended up by saving 81$ from the COMEX price which is not a small money! While I came out the Mighty Lady(guess she is the Owner) called me again and said.."in case of any problem, Bring the flash to me ..i'll get it rectified Faster...Thank you so very muchh" and came along with me till the exit of the shop! though it'z a few feet - it counts for me , after reading few BAD experiences of customers in singapore! For BAD Shops...no need to quote names... but for Good Shops..can I? Cheers Get A HAPPY CUSTOMER TODAY! |

Point 1. A SB800 comes with diffuser, flash stand and color gel complete and 1 year local or International warranty recognized by Nikon Singapore. There is no such thing as having to buy the stuff separately. I know cos I owned 4 sets before. And even when I sold them 2nd hand in the B&S in CS, it also goes complete, nothing less. And this complete set cost will range from probably $630 - $628 or less if you get from the Mass Order of International Warranty set from the ppl here. Point 2. So with $597 + $25 (for diffuser) it will work out to $622 which is close to what Cathay Photo at Comex is selling. This sounds fair. Now look at Point 3 the most important part. Point 3. There is such a term called "grey sets" (do a search here in CS and you have a very good understanding after that). Basically grey set do not have warranty in this case Nikon Singapore do not recognized grey sets and will not warranty it at all. The shops that carries it actually gives their own warranty. To check if yours is the grey set, first look for the warranty card, go to Nikon Singapore and check with them whether warranty is recognized or is it a grey set. Bottomline, I am afraid you have been had.

I agree you , but Since I need to send 1 SB800 to India coming sunday, I was forced to buy today, and cdn't wait for any MO'z. I checked my Pack. I have the flash,Diffuser,Gel, and the stand... Point 2: I called them up reg the diffuser,as I was not aware that a diffuser comes along with SB800.Shame on me for not looking at the diffuser when they opened up.I concentrated only on the flash. And fortunately, they agreed to take back the diffuser. Point 3 and most Important: I guess , I bought a Grey Set- with the shop's warranty!! To be precise, I need to change the subject of the thread!! Lots'a Oooppz..and Ouuch says that it's a RIGHT place NOT to visit... if that is the case, Why is it LISTED in the http://forums.clubsnap.com/showthread.php?t=151190 ?? Get

I've dealt with TCW many times before. I'm sure they won't rip people off so easily otherwise fewer people will go there than now. It is and will be highly regarded by many CSers and rightly so for many reasons. If you feel you have been ripped off, go and talk to them. I trust you will find them reasonable.
