For those who may be curious about how these cameras fare against each other in low light environments, these shots of my cat were taken in dim room light with the F30, T30 and D-Lux 2 (or LX1) at their max. ISO settings respectively for a rough visual comparison. For the F30, ISO 1600 was used instead of 3200. No other post-processing was carried out except for resizing.

though from the photos, fuji fares the best but to me it seems like it wasn't a fair judgement afterall... Fuji was taken at ISO 1600, Sony at ISO 1000 while Leica at ISO 400, if u were to set all of 'em at 400, maybe we'll see the differences and how they fare each other fairly on the other hand, i do notice Sony seems very noisy or my eyes are playing some tricks... btw, F30 really best as i've seen and i've try it's performance before personally and quite reliable even though i'm using a F11 where i'm equally happy with it's performance ![]() |

I took some pics with Panny's FZ50 at Comex. I found that at high ISO, the place that is focused on looks relatively clean, but the deeper the DOF, the noiser that part of the image got. So the kitty's face looks clean, even though it's quite dark, but the black patch at the bottom left side of the image exhibits some noise.
Of course, of the three, the F30 rocks hardest. Will miss it when it is sold eventually ![]() |
