Default Tamron 180mm Macro 1:1

Hi, anybody using this macro lense can shed some light. I went to CP this afternoon and was quoted for $1280. How is the lense performance as compare to Sigma 180mm macro? Thanks.

Not necessary. Distance does make different on what you wanna capture.

YMMV

I sold my Nikkor 105 for Tamron 180 because of the working distance, narrower angle of view and that tripod collar.

if you want a fixed 180mm range and willing to spend a little more, I'll recommend the Nikkor 180mm Micro and skip the Tamron and Sigma. Otherwise get the 70-180mm Micro Nikkor.
