Prices most likely are SRP, shop prices probably will be lower.

I just hope Sony don't really control the price until only certain camera shop can sell. If not most will look for 3rd party lenses soon ![]()

Sony lenses are class-assed ........ they are pricing themselves out of the market, especially with only 1 consumer body to show ...............

When their lens or system don't sell well they will review their price. Market trend will dictate the price.

Not just lenses and cameras. Sony has been in the red for almost 6 yrs now. They price their PS3 out of the stratosphere: 600USD. Xbox360 and Wii already capture the market. PS3 not yet out.
They didnt make many friends with the stupid MD format and memory sticks either. I think sony lost touch with the real world consumers and markets. |

I hope SONY don't cut prices after ppl get pissed off with it. Tamron/Tokina/Sigma already have a full range of lens in A-mount at their disposal. Furthermore cheaper in price too. Only thing is stock, coz ppl saying they are waiting for future of the amount b4 producing again.
I think will start rolling again for these 3rd party lens. I can live without SONY lenses if price situation doesn't change. |

IMHO, sony will never sell anything at a price below customers' expectation. Just look at the way they spend on advertisement, you will know someone has to pay for it. And is none other then the end users like us. Look at the way they advertise T10 on yesterday's paper, is crazy! Consumers nowadays are diff, the more u pump on marketing, the more they are skeptical of whether worth buying? And for me, I think a good product don't need to rely so heavily on marketing esp the brand awareness is already there. Save the $$ for R&D and improvement on quality, or more competitive price for end users.
I was about to switch system but with hesitation. When I saw the way sony advertise T10 yesterday, I was quite pease off and that may prompt me to quickly sell all my KM/sony gear becos I worry no future with them ![]() |
