On the screen, it's just as small. When one assumes the screen is correct, who would go and bother the final product is correct since it should be in the first place.

    Sh!t happens.

    I won't know, I don't work in Nikon. I'm just a newbie.

Call up Nikon and tell them then. The ball is in their court.

I think Nikon will have already seen it. I bet hundreds of people have already called hoping they would be the first 'very clever' people to point it out.

If they (Nikon) really want to change (which I hardly think so), just used back the same background template & change that single alphabet lar. Just use that portion & stick-em onto the wrong one will do mar. Don't even have to re-stick the entire bus ads too.

Very careless for a company to let the advertising agency make that mistake... and assuming they did hire a big ads agency with a decent budget, that is a very big blunder.

I'm not sure if God is reading this.. but unless its a one-man show, I would assume there will be checks and counterchecks, within the ad agencies, and then QA within the client.

So when Sh!t happens someone will take the Sh!t.

SH!T happens, but the ultimate responsiblity is the company that is being advertised because it doesn't look good on them. When one sees an advertisement, it is the product that is seen and no one really cares who the ad agency was. In large 'product marketing' companies, if something like this happens, someone get's fired. But, we are all human.

I also work in an ad agency (even if it's a small local one) and sometimes I spot typos in the copy (text) provided by client and fix them, but client sometimes insist on changing back to their incorrect spelling. I shan't name my client, but they are what you would call big and established also.

I suspect that the structure of the approval process for advertisements and marketing materials over at the client's office is abit messy sometimes. So that even when mistakes are pointed out, they do not translate into corrective action.

With Nikon, I'm sure that their advertisements have to be sent to Japan for approval. Somethings might have been lost in translation, and it's possible the wrong instructions may have been sent to Nikon SG and then the ad agency. Another possibility is the boss on the Japan side insisted on spelling 'made' as 'make' and Nikon SG is too afraid or too demoralised to argue/explain. Anything is possible.

Good point, but it is like asking me to vet and approve a Japanese advertisment. If this is the case, then there is a problem within the Nikon marketing department structure.

Even major advertisments are sporting simple mistakes.

such statements can bring trouble. I'd be more careful with what is posted. you'll never know who's reading!
