Default Bali, 4th-11th August

Looks like everyone had a great time at Bali!

Had a great time diving in 23degree waters in a 3mm wetsuit. Some of my friends went in boardshorts and rash guards..heroes, all.

Here are some shots to share, and I appreciate any tips and advice on how to improve!

All shots with Canon A95, princeton tec LED torchlight

1. Nudibranch (someone help ID this?)

2. Ghost pipefish (with Inon D2000s strobe)

3. Photographers at the Drop-Off

4. Cleaner shrimp flitting about

5. Barracuda getting a dental (the teeth were at least 2 inches long, and i was 10inches away. my camera never felt so small, nor my fingers so big and fleshy)

great barra shot.

for some, i'd prefer to hv a darker background, like the Ghostpipefish.

And since you are no newbie, some are OFF! how can post OFF shots? WE all have them, we just don;t share them

Hey Antacid,

I can see you guys had a nice trip. Too bad we did not bump into each other at Tulamben.

I was already feeling the coldness at 26 degrees in 3mm... 21-23 degrees in 3mm suit will make turn me into frozen food for the sunfish... ;-p

haha thanks for the comments so far, guys.

whoswho> yup, you missed the gravy train to Bali...don't worry, the season's not over yet! there's still time!

kthan> wow thanks for the compliment! but i still newbie leh..lots more to learn from all of you. haha. which shots were OOF? ok, i think the mola-mola one was a little OOF, and so was the nembrotha kubaryana one. i think i need to get my eyes checked..to be honest, i can't really tell if some shots are OOF, because the resolution from my camera can be quite terrible.

twilightzone> yes, pity we didn't bump into each other. the whole lot of us were at the palm beach paradise resort at tulamben getting mobbed by the t-shirt vendors. where were you at? great pics too, btw. i see you're really enjoying your D2000..haha. it got rather "refreshing" when the temperature was 23degrees. was too lazy to squeeze into a 5mm, so stuck to my 3mm and made sure i didn't move much underwater so i won't let any water in!

T-shirt vendors mobbing was part of the deal at Tulamben. Not to forget the kite mobster too.

Yeah, the D2000 was great, but the photographer needs lots more practice...

don't you think that's an excellent reason to go diving more often?
((=

my girlfriend would call it an excuse, though..haha.

diedie> not everyone saw Mr and Mrs Mola..the guys i went with didnt see..some of us saw because we signed up for an extra day of diving, cos we decided we couldn't take the disappointment..seems like no current+cool waters is the best time?
