Singapore International Hockey Challenge 2006: India vs Pakistan.

Hi guys, here are some pictures taken several weeks ago during the last match of Singapore International Hockey Challenge between India and Pakistan, the 2 main powerhouse in Asia. The match, of which the winner will emerge as the winner of the 4 Nations Tournament witnessed a full house turn out at Delta Sport Complex of which many were from the India and Pakistani community living in Singapore. Despite coming down 0-1, Pakistan recovered and won the match 4-1 with its stronger defence and powerful penalty corners.

1. Danish Mujtaba (8) and Ranjit Singh (23) warm up for the match with the rest of India U-18 hockey team.

2. Pakistan's Rasool Shafqat (10) takes on his opponents.

3. Pakistan's Khan Abdul Hassem (13) is mobbed by his team after scoring a goal to break the 1-1 deadlock.

4. Attempting to recover from a single goal deflict, India's Danish Mujtaba (8) defends his possession from Pakistan skipper Attique Muhammad.

5. India's Danish Mujtaba (L) clashes stick with Pakistan's Attique Muhammad in a bid to get the ball.

6. Shah Imran, goalkeeper for Pakistan watched as the goal flys past the goal after India Daler Singh failed to connect a deep pass.

7. India's Danish Mujtaba (8) displays his flair by putting the ball past Ali Kashif from Pakistan.

8. Pakistani players embrace one another in joy after defeating India to win the Singapore International Hockey Challenge 2006

9. The players met up with their supporters who are mainly from the local Pakistani community in Singapore.

nice takes.. i like the 7th shot a lot.. great timing and capture of getting nutmegged

no 6 does it for me... love the GK shots when they have to see the ball roll past them... helpless....

thanks rTwin...i'm trying to include more aspects of the sports... hoping to not just focus on the "peak" but other elements of the games .... was kinda of disappointed with my try on this hockey tournament... but i will keep trying....

hehe u're evil man... in that case i shall attempt a "great save" shot to return justics to the goalie.... if i can lah haha
