The schools hols just started and my son wanted to go to the butterfly farm. What an excellent place to do some photography.
All taken mainly with 105VR+TC17II E or 300mm f/4 plus SB800 for fill. Son pretending to take a snap. The cam was not even on yet. ![]() Pre-butterfly...the caterpillars. Anyone can ID this? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

really nice photos. kinda brings back memories of myself freaking out when my parents brought me to a butterfly farm somewhere in malaysia years back. haha..

I know what you mean. The caterpillars especially give me the creeps too. Despite their size they were quite well camouflaged. I first noticed the small one (1st caterpillar pix) which was about 1.5cm. After a few shots I noticed something moving just to my left. Goodness me, there were 2 huge ones (6-8cm) having a meal of leaves as shown. Still gives me the creeps thinking about them! |
