From ZCF list, if I'm not wrong only the Tamron/KM 11-18 and Sigma 10-20 are designed for APS sensor. The rest are FF. However, the Tamron 11-18 (most likely the KM 11-18 as well) can be used in FF from 14mm onwards. The Sigma 10-20 cannot be used on FF as there will be Vignetting throughout the range.
Too bad Tokina 12-24 f4 is not available for the Minolta/A-Mount, it's very good based on those who had used it. Another "AKAN DATANG" wide angle is the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 (APS sensor) and Zeiss 16-80 f3.5-4.5 (APS sensor). A details comparison of Nikon 12 - 24 mm f/4, Tokina 12 - 24 mm f/4, Sigma 10 - 20 mm f/4 - 5.6 and Tamron 11 - 18 mm f/4.5 - 5.6. Good read if you want to find out more about the Tamron 11-18 and the Sigma 10-20. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/digi...ison-index.htm

Have a question. for the 17-35mm,
is there a lot of difference between its 17mm end and 18 mm end of the kit lens? Have not used 17-35mm before... but kit lens served me well. |

Don't have full frame DSLR yet, and too busy to shoot, no time to shoot with film. Don't have scanner some more. Hart |

I happen to know Nikon 12-24, KM 11-18 and Sigma 12-24. My comment, if you want sharp and cheap lens, KM 11-18 is the way to go. Distortion is very much well control. Nikon 12-24 (yes, I seen 4 copies of that lenses all in action), all bow like a fish eye if the lens is very close to a subject. Personally, don't like it... nothing against Nikon user, just my experience with them. Before you flame me, I know this from my experience for retouching for 4 real estate photographers using Nikon 12-24. Sigma 12-24 is good, but distortion is a problem too. About the same as Nikon (remember I only have 1 copy). So my choice, KM11-18 anytime.... happen to be the cheapest one as well. Regards, Hart |

hee hee, the sigma 12-24 looks so.............how to say? funny? will never dare to bring that to a crowded place.
and how come no one talk about the sigma 18-50? very very sharp(when compared to kit lens), constant F2.8. problem is slow focus though.

hi i took test photos between 17 (my 17-35),18mm (my 18-70) in my room. the 1mm difference (or rather 1.5mm) is not significant. but the photos sharpness. 17-35mm wins hands down ![]()
