Hi all, any C&C on how to improve this shot? Thanks in advance

shift your position to get a cleaner background for a start

The BG is brighter then your focused main subject, hence viewer tend to move the attention to the BG. And as suggested by Eikin, the BG is messy.

Try more, shoot more, post more.

Thanks all for your comments.

I shot this using a monopod with no flash. Used Av mode, set it at f13 and boost up the ISO to achieve a useable shutter and got this shot. Purposely chose the 2 flowers as background but as what u guys mentioned, was quite distracting... u reckon it will be better if i stopped down?

In this photo, no point havnig set the aperture to f13.

I would shoot it at f5.6 ;-)

Then you can "clean" up the background a little.

Fwa... then the DOF will be so thin that it will go OOF easily?

Ok will try next time... cos I tot usually the guide is at least f11 for macro due to the close distance to the subject.

Ok thanks for the suggestions. Will try again. See if I can get the stigmas in focus within the razor thin DOF at f5.6
