HI CM,
Nice catch of the rarely seened Bindahara phocides phocides #2 and such a pristine one too It would had been a nice looking Harlequin if only the bg had been better in #3 I can understand the constraint of shooting in the field. You shoot what you can and worry about the bg later. ![]() |

Thanks Bro jbma, Qazwer, and David.
Qazwer, yup. Very high ISO was used when shooting pic #3. At least 800 I think. (The eye is not in focus )It was around 5pm under the canopy. Dark and messy. David, if possible I will look for a better BG if 1. the butt is co-operate enough to pose for me 2. If I still get the best DOF If not, like what you said, record first, talk later. haha |

Nice shots of #1 Taractrocera archias quinta (TAQ) and #2 a male Bindahara phocides phocides (The Plane )! Congrates on nailing #3 a female Taxila haquinus haquinus (Harlequin), you are amongst the handful that managed to nail it after it was re-discovered in late March 2006. They love the shade and it is always a challenge to take a decent shot of them with mandatory high ISO ,low speed and the wind factor. Considering it was late in the evening when the shot was taken it was a commendable effort. !Last edited by Bluesteel; 20th August 2006 at 12:06 PM. |
