Default Bleaching my film

Sorry for confusion caused. I rephrase my question as below:

I would like to re-bleach & re-fix my C41 processed film myself which was previously done by a lab.
Reason for re-bleach & re-fix: i suspect there is some unwanted silver remain on my color negative film.

Anyone can help me to do it together? I am very new to it.
& I do not know the proper way to dispose off the chemical. Could you advise me please?

Which bleach are you using? Farmer's Reducer or pure Potassium Ferocynanide?

I wan to re-bleach my negative film using Tetenal Bleachfix Bx powder. I already bought it. But I am not yet started. It wasn't as easier as I thought after I read the manual.

It is somehow different from what I pressume. Need more guidance.

I am not quite sure if I got you right.

Are you talking about C41 negatives or E-6 (positives) processing?

I am not aware that there is a bleaching process in B&W negative development. Therefore I am confused by your statement that you want to "re-bleach" your negatives.

Or perhaps you already had bleached your negatives before (to reduce density), but effects of the initial bleaching not sufficient?

Not... you are right., There isn't a bleaching process in B&W negative development.

I have a hint Kanni is referring to E-6 processing.

I am talking about C41 negative, not B&W negative.

Yes, the film is already bleached in a lab. But I think there is some unwanted silver remains in the image. Thus. i would like to re-bleach it and then fix it. (I bought the blix but not yet started cos I dunno the detail procedure.)

Damn.... I am wrong again.

Does your bleach comes with mixing instructions?

Yes, but that is very brief. Not really mixing instruction though as there are only 3 packets of powder. And information that I obtained from website seems more details and demanding. Information also not consistent. So i dunno which to "believe". To get more confused, the process was explained as a whole ( like from developer-> bleach-> fixer-> stabilizer). Temperature seems demanding.

But I only wan to do the bleach & fix to remove any silver remained. I dun have the proper equipment either. I was thinking getting some plastic bottle to shake only..

Sorry for the small OT, but once a film is fixed, can it be 'adjusted' using this bleaching process to reduce density?

Yes, this can be done.

Density can be reduced, and can be enhanced.

I must admit to have zero knowledge to do what you want.

But here are some thoughts

1 You were concern about disposing the bleach. I think the amount you use will likely to be very minute and will not likely to be a hazard.

2 Please educate me. Are there silver in C41 negatives? In any case, I suggest sniping a small section of unimportant film and experiment with it.

Sorry, not much help there!

1) can I dispose it into the toilet bowl?

2) yes, there are silver (toxic to environment) in C41 negative. I have found it on photo.net.

I have cut them into frames. But need a place to do it, maybe toilet? But prefer to do it with ppl with some experience ( I have ZERO experience. Now, doing more reading)

For B and W film, after the fixing process, only washing is involve,or hardening, but for colour, there is an extra process to staberlised the film,so can it be fix again?

For jobo chemicals, the wetting agent is also act as staberliser.

Alo tof things are toxic but when in low amounts it won't do harm. For us as small users, there is no harm in disposing off small amounts as long as not all Singaporeans are going to develop black and white films everyday.......:-)

Yeah... or else where else can you dispose of chemicals, if not the toilet bowl?

Yes, it can be re-fix again.
The process is developer-> bleach-> fix-> staberliser.
If result not good (manual got 'troubleshooter'), can be blix again. But instruction is not very clear...

Thanks Hong Sien,
I thought of calling the lab and give it to them... ( naive thinking?)
Btw, not B&W, I am referring to color negative..

Cos it may be one of the causes for poor digitalised output.

I rebleach-fixed my film le. A lot of white marks appeared- guess is the silver.
Procedures as follows:
1) Mix the powder as mentioned in the manual
2) place the film in and shake for 6 min
3) take it out using tweezer and wash it under tap water (flowing water) for about 3 min till all the white marks are washed away
4) Hang to dry under room temp (preferably in a clean, non-dusty place)

Checked again, image is more contrasty now.
