Hi,
i am pretty new into DSLR and currently own a KM 5D. I tot of having a better lens to replace my kit lens (KM 18-70) and tot of getting either the following: 1) tamron 28-75mm F2.8 OR 2) carl zesis 16-80 F3.5-F4.5 My question is which is a better lens? Carl Zesis has a great quality and standard, but won't a Tamron F2.8 (compared to Carl's F3.5) give me better picture quality? |

Good lens is more related to glass quality than just f-stop.
Carl Zeiss is known to produce great lens.. as compare to Tamron... and I think CZ lens is not cheap. The best thing you can do is to try out the Tamron lens and if you are happy with the image quality.. buy it. btw.. someone is selling KM 17-35mm f2.8-4 lens in B&S.

I am sure both has its purpose... CZ lens is good, but very expensive... Tamron 28-75 is great too given the price if you shoot f4 onward. However, I do find that KM 18-70 is a very good lens... I took most of my travel shot in HK with this lens... here is the link to my HK images If you are not doing a lot of photography, 18-70 is great... Regards, Hart |
