    Default Recommended reading for Drybox?

For drybox users, what's your "so called" normal/good reading on your hygrometer?
    Mine's 64%RH, good or bad?

According to digi-cabi recommendation, should be 40%RH-50%RH for camera (see link). If too dry, the rubber seal may dry up and crack.

For photographic euqipment it shloud be around the 45-55% range. You can try buying a seocnd hydrometer if you suspect your dry cabinet's one is not accurate..

Any ways to reduce the dryness? Re-heat the gel? Oh btw, i'm using the digi-box.

Leave the door open for a few mins, let all that hydrated air in!

For photography gear, 40-50% RH is recommended by dry-cab (or dry-box) manufacturer. Stick on it, they are spend money to do the research to slowing down fungus' growth already.

IMHO, it is better to use Dry-cab than Dry-box. Since blue silica gel contains Cobalt chloride (for humidity indicator), which is known as carcinogen. Better safe than sorry. I wonder when the yellow silica gel take over blue silica gel (yellow silica gel is not carcinogen).

    Arto.
