Hmm I was thinking that a closer crop of the dried up section of the leaf might work better. Though I can't say for sure, it has terrific form and I think it should be given more weight.

Currently this image doesn't have enough focus for it to strike me. It's rather vague.

hi bro Ortega,

Nice shot in terms of composition. You using the veins as lead in lines to the subject which is the dried curly leaf?

However, the dried curly leaf seems a lil bit oof. Thats what i think could be better.

Shoot more!

My camera is a consumer level camera, no banding issue on my camera

I think the brown curl could use more DOF in this case.

Just my 2 poor c view.....also new to flora macro...

I'm using CANON EOS 300.
you need a good steady tripod - buy a good one as it will last you many many years
mine is already more than 15 years old

a dedicated macro lens - 3rd party lens also can, for example the tamron 90, i have not tried the tokina 100 so i cannot say much about that.

a flash with some kind of diffuser - can DIY as well

and lastly shoot shoot shoot
