Do you all shoot light trails?

Taken at Benjamin Sheares Bridge after Singapore Fireworks Festival (Team France) 2006. Only post processing I did was a bit of levels.

Feel free to add your own contributions to this thread.

Light trail was my very first try on the Night Photography.

To capture the trafiic light trail, I advise you to take from higher ground such as multi storey car park, overhead bridge over the expressways and so on so that you can see the flow of the traffic and not only the trails.

Cheers!

Yeah, plan to try that out. I am just happy that I managed to get the 'star' effect on the street lights. Thanks!

I suppose you were using a compact digicam?

You will find it hard to get rid of it when comes to time you don't want the star effect. LOL

Yeah, using my toy S2IS. I realise that point & shoots tend to give the star effect easily. I do not get much of it if I open up my aperture.

location wise i guess most of us only think of overhead bridge. so the angle was rather similar to most light trails images. wonder if there's any nice and free spots?

Hi there,

Other suggestion will be at those Multiple Storey Carparks. Here is one taken from a Multiple Storey Carpark.

oh this is nice, some distractions here and there but the curving trails look great.

I like this better then the first one, maybe due to the curves. Would a crop without the sky & tower be better?

There is a nice spot on Benjamin Sheares bridge, its a straight road and you are above it and looking down perpendicular to it. Too bad the day I was three was for the fireworks, so traffic was hardly moving along the road. Another nice spot would be above expressway cloverleafs, you get to see cars making almost a full circle along the road.

My version of light trails.... Not really from the moving objects... but from the zoom effects of the lens to create this picutre rather.

Pictures shot during last year New Year celebration in waiting for the firework to begin at the Esplanade Bridge. The light are reflection of floating foam balls on the water when then use a strong coloured light beam to shine on the balls to give different effects.
