Default Spiders Macros and a Beetle

Well, today another near opportunity of a "Law of Nature" series again...

A HJ spotted a small winged insect, approach it, pounced, but the insect escaped!!!!

Other spiders shot are the Green crab spider (male) and a Brown crab spider.

FZ10+Raynox 250, ISO50, F8, 1/60s, 2 diffuse flash

#1: Heavy Jumper

#2: The approach.....and no part II to this...as it miss.....well, the HJ is NOT always successful!

#3: Green Crab Spider (male)

#4: Frt face

#5: Brown crab spider

Ya, thanks!

Been playing with the Raynox 250, and am quite pleased with it.

Also bought a adjustable flash holder.....a small hinged device that holds the flash and allows it to be held horizontally.....so now I can place my LHS flash closer to the subject.....first time trying today and seems not too bad...

Thanks!

Actually they can be very big, and larger than the Lynx. The one above is quite a junior, but the adults are huge!

Nice macros! Found a couple of these Heavy Jumpers a couple of months ago and kept them for about 2 weeks on house flies and fruit flies.
They make great pets: tough and the behaviour is interesting.
Released them near my house. Now, if they would just reproduce...!

You should produce a series of Law of home kept HJ feeding on houseflies and fruit flies. But Law of Nature still rocks!

you are indeed king of macro. I mean equipment wise, you are not even using expensive ones. And yet the pictures turn out superb. Very good control of camera! And that skill when applied to SLR might be unimaginable!
