a person selling this @ 1 of the forum:

oh.. ok.. haha actually i wana get a DSLR instead.. but i think a D50 or D70/80 wld be great.. hee =) i noe nothing abt photography yet.. yet to attend the SLCC course

then u shud spend ur $$ on a DSLR and forget abt film SLR if u're keen to learn photography and learn it fast.

Yup....

with film, it's a tedious and expensive process and you may find yourself in situations where you do not dare to risk too much as you may start counting dollars n cents for each shot. With a digital, you can keep trying until you find the shot that you like.

But still it's a romantic throwback to the film and slides... they are so much better in terms of DR and clarity...

Mebbe I may get back to film one of these days... hehe

Where got such thing?? I also started with film.. and I also newbie... still a poor struggling learner... though I spent quite a bit during the film days...

Bro...with $1k y not u get a D70 or D70s from B&S since so many are selling? Around $800 or more if with warranty. Then slowly save up for the lens...even if $800 is body only..u can get the kit lens at like $320 or so. Total only $1120 or lesser if you are lucky, isn't it better? Frankly a dSLR is better to start off rather than Flim as what others have said.
